Stung by the global condemnations, the Nigerian government took out advertisements in a number of African newspapers last week asserting that Saro-Wiwa was indeed guilty of the murders of four moderate Ogoni leaders. A two-page ad in The New York Times on Wednesday, financed by a little-known foundation, also contended that Saro-Wiwa was a violent man who deserved his fate....

After The Match 2 earlier this year focused its fundraising toward COVID-19 relief, Nov. 27’s event will raise money for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Stephen Curry, Charles Barkley and Peyton Manning, three of the event’s competitors, all have made recorded donations to HBCUs in the past. While the pilot episode of The Last of Us scored HBO’s best premiere in years, episode 2 has reportedly managed to blow those numbers out of the water with seemingly effortless swagger. The Last of Us’ second week saw 5.7 million viewers tune in on Sunday night for the mushroom zombie action, an increase of 22% over the previous episode. That’s a whole 1 million more who had flocked to this exciting new show based on some pretty enticing word of mouth....

Although The Last of Us was remastered for the PS4 shortly after its PS3 release, there’s been no official word on a full remake of the game until now. The PS5 has made some impressive leaps in gaming technology, and it seems Sony is keen on releasing one of its blockbuster hits once again for an even bigger audience. The unnamed team from the Visual Arts Service Group was initially given the go-ahead by Sony to do a remake of The Last of Us, but the team was also kept secret with severe limitations on budget....

4:50 p.m. A lawyer for the man convicted of killing a former Saints football player says they’re disappointed over an appeals court’s decision to uphold his conviction. Paul Barker represents Cardell Hayes, who was convicted of manslaughter in the April 2016 shooting of NFL star Will Smith during a traffic altercation. A three-judge panel of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeal Wednesday affirmed Hayes’ conviction and 25 year sentence....

6:30 p.m. Norwegian skier Kjetil Jansrud says he hopes to race in the super-G at the world championships on Wednesday, two weeks after breaking two bones in his left hand in a crash in downhill training in Kitzbuehel. Jansrud, the Olympic super-G champion in 2014 and a worlds silver medalist in 2017, says the injury should take six weeks to heal but he’s willing to race with “some sort of handicap....
