So, at PAX Prime 2013, Naughty Dog sought to give gamers a closer look at The Last of Us in the form of an alternate ending. This isn’t a narrated explanation either, but as close to the finished product as gamers are going to get — complete with mo-cap actors and a rough lighting pass. Of course, in setting up the scene, there is going to be some spoiler-y material, so those gamers who have yet to complete The Last of Us — arguably one of the best games of the year — should bookmark this page and return once they’ve finished....

The games in question were none other than Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, and Pandora’s Tower. Xenoblade was confirmed for N.A. as a GameStop exclusive several months ago, and today Nintendo has confirmed that The Last Story will make a similar move — courtesy of an exclusive publishing deal between Nintendo and XSEED Games. News of The Last Story’s, now pending, North American debut came during the big Nintendo Direct announcement made earlier this morning, hosted by none other than Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime....

To that point, Naughty Dog offered a brief update on development progress for The Last of Us 2 during the game’s PSX panel, and it sounds like the game still has some work left to be done. But the good news is the studio believes it is about 50 or 60 percent done with the sequel and is starting to hand off certain aspects to new teams. Game director Neil Druckmann was quick to point out that he isn’t entirely sure how far along the game is, but it does sound like The Last of Us 2 is progressing nicely....

The Last of Us 2 contains many different types of characters in shape, size, and personality. Despite this, Johnston played many of them and while not all of the characters she played had names, she also acted as major characters in the story such as Ellie, Dina, Yara, and Lev. However, she spent most of her motion capture work for the game as Abby, one of the game’s more controversial characters....

But in gaming, women having sheer muscle mass is perhaps less represented and becomes Abby’s most defining physical characteristic in both narrative and gameplay. Abby’s physical transformation is addressed in The Last of Us 2’s narrative as the result of her father being murdered, and is ultimately a visual depiction of her focused determination in seeking revenge. Fans have recently begun to celebrate and admire Abby’s physique by taking a nostalgic look back at her transformation from skinny to buff....

McClay of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga notes that September 11 caused some persons to conclude that religion, and especially monotheism, is a dangerous residue of mankind’s infancy. Thor: The Dark World is a sequel that had a tough act to follow after the introduction of Thor and Loki in the funny and dramatically exciting first film, but managed to continue Thor’s journey as a more humble hero....
