This much was intimated during a recent interview Garvin held with Game Informer, in which the Days Gone creative director offered a plethora of gameplay details about the forthcoming action-adventure release from Bend Studio. At about the halfway point of the discussion, though, the interviewer asked Garvin if “[Days Gone] is coming out before The Last of Us: Part 2,” with the developer succinctly saying, “Yes.” For those unaware, Days Gone is currently slated to release at some point in early 2019, so if Garvin’s statement is accurate, then logic dictates that The Last of Us: Part 2 will be coming out next year as well....

The Last of Us: Part 2 developer Naughty Dog has very likely been questioned time and time again by fans of Naughty Dog and The Last of Us, as indicated by a recent tweet from game director Neil Druckmann. After tweeting a video honoring the anniversary of the release of the first The Last of Us, he joked that The Last of Us: Part 2’s release date gets delayed by 5 minutes every time someone asks what the release date is....

That being said, it seems the game’s writer and director, Neil Druckmann, is much less confident that the legion of players who will flock to the sequel next week are going to be unanimously happy with it. Speaking to Wired, the incredibly popular video game director expressed that The Last of Us 2, at its core, will be an incredibly divisive game, with Druckmann and his time electing to take some major risks which he’s sure will split the fanbase....

It would be impossible to go on without clarifying that taking a look at the faults of The Last of Us Part 2 doesn’t immediately claim the game is a failure or terrible, nor does it deserve the review bombing it received on release. This is simply a deep dive into one of the few flaws that the game presents itself, which are actually fairly difficult to find until later in the story when the message starts getting beaten over the players heads....
