As seen in the footage for The Last Guardian below, fans can get an even better idea of what it will be like to play as the young boy protagonist, and how he will interact with the game’s world, as well as the mammoth half-bird-half-mammal creature known as Trico. Of course, a lot of what’s shown is new, but it must be noted that some of the areas and scenarios have been detailed in previous videos such as its trailer for E3 2016.

While the latest portion of gameplay for The Last Guardian will undoubtedly be intriguing to gamers who have been waiting for the title’s release since it escaped the dregs of development hell, footage can only do so much in the way of conveying how a release plays. Bearing that in mind, with the game lacking an official demo for the general public, fans will have to go on reports of The Last Guardian’s gameplay, with a lot of journalists portraying an early demo build in a negative light, stating graphical issues and problems with its controls mar its ability to be fully enjoyed.
Nevertheless, it seems as if developers are well aware of the issues inherent in The Last Guardian, which is why the game was delayed yet again in order to iron out the remaining kinks. While the news of its postponement was definitely disappointing for fans, it’s heartening to know that Team Ico seems determined to deliver a totally polished final product, no matter if its release must be perpetually rescheduled.
Taking into account the fact that The Last Guardian has been in the works for nearly a decade, it makes sense for a lot of gamers to be excited about its impending launch, if only to see if it can prove that its lengthy development process was worth it in the end. As it happens, we even consider it to be one of our most anticipated video games of 2016, that is, if it doesn’t get pushed back into next year.
